KANSAS CITY, Mo.—In the preseason version of the NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25, Southeastern is ranked 22nd.
The poll was released Tuesday by the national office, and is voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each conference and independent group.
The Fire finished the 2018 season ranked 24th, and posted a 40-18 record. Southeastern returns 11 players from the team that finished second in The Sun Conference.
This marks the fourth consecutive season the Fire have started the year with a preseason Top 25 ranking.
Southeastern begins its 2019 season on February 1 at Trinity Baptist. During the season, the Fire will have 10 games against teams ranked in the preseason poll, and another five against teams receiving votes.
