NEW ORLEANS—Southeastern University’s track and field program was honored for its academic success during its first year of competition by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Fire women’s team was honored as an All-Academic Team for posting a 3.4 team GPA. To be eligible, a team must have a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 and finish highly at the national championship meet. SEU was one of just 44 NAIA women’s programs earning this distinction.
Individually on the women’s side, Jenycha Rivera, Julia Rohm, and Namiah Simpson were named All-Academic individuals.
The individual criteria requires a 3.25 cumulative GPA, and having reached an NAIA “A” or “B” National Qualifying standard.
Kyle Manuel was named All-Academic on the men’s team.
