OKLAHOMA CITY—During the four rounds of the NAIA National Championship, the Southeastern University women’s golf team broke the school record for the lowest 18 hole team score twice.
In the final round, the Fire posted a score of 302, a shot better than Wednesday’s previous record of 303.
Southeastern finished 13th, which is the second best finish in program history.
Individually, Ashlynn Joyner placed 28th with a 72-hole score of 300 finishing her tournament with a two-over 74 in the final round. Joyner recorded three of her four birdies on the Back 9 where the Fire teed off, and made the turn at one-under, and was two-under after 11 holes.
Ana Uribe shot a 73 for the second consecutive day and finished two shots behind Joyner in 34th place. The junior carded five birdies in the round, with four on the front.
Valentina Espinosa finished 68th, shooting a 77 in the final round. Brianna Farrell placed 79th with a total of 318, finishing the week with a 78. Brooke Wetzel rounded out the scoring with a 322 total, finishing with an 84.
