KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Southeastern University women’s soccer team made a historic climb in the latest NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, rising to No. 2 for the highest ranking in program history.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.
The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
Fellow Sun Conference member Keiser remained at No. 6 in the poll.
The Fire currently sit at 14-1-1 on the season and have posted five consecutive shutouts.
Junior forward Uchenna Kanu leads the NAIA in goals scored with 40 on the season.
The Fire return to the pitch Wednesday night as they travel to Lake Wales to take on Warner University. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
