KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Southeastern University women’s tennis team was listed in the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 for the first time in over three years.
Not only did the Fire enter the poll for the first time since March 15, 2016, the Fire also received their highest ranking ever.
Southeastern checked in at 19th in the poll voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each conference and independent group.
The Fire sit at 14-3, which marks the most wins in program history and includes a win over No .13 Cumberland (Tenn.) on Friday. The Phoenix fell two spots to 15th. Only Indiana Wesleyan (24-5) has more wins than the Fire among those in the ranking.
Individually, Beatrice Letizia is ranked as the No. 36 singles player in the ITA Top 50.
On Wednesday, the Fire face Coastal Georgia, which is receiving votes in the poll.
