Fire Wrestling Up a Spot in Latest Coaches’ Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Southeastern University wrestling team moved up one spot in the latest NAIA Men’s Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll.
The Fire check in at 13th in the latest version of the poll, which features fellow Mid-South teams.
Southeastern has posted a 5-3 record in dual meets this season, and is 1-1 in the Mid-South Conference.
Individually, Jaaziel Santana saw the biggest improvement, jumping up six spots to 13th at 125 with his win over former No. 9 Cagen Wallace.
Jason Davis moved up two spots at 184 to 11th following his victory over former No. 8 Lucas Miozza.
Ethan Owen remains the highest-ranked individual despite moving down a spot at 141. The returning All-American checks in at sixth in this week’s poll. Fellow All-American Dylan Chatterton dropped to ninth at 157. Sophomore Jake Watters also dropped a spot at 149 and is now ranked 13th.
At 197, Luis Peguero checks in at 12th and Jesse Pryor at 17th.
The Fire head to Louisville this weekend for the NWCA Team Duals.
