Football Adds to Roster on Signing Day 2018

LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University head football coach Keith Barefield has announced the addition of 19 student-athletes who have signed letters of intent to join the Fire football team in the fall of 2018.

The class of true freshmen has 14 players on offense, and three on defense. Thirteen played high school football in the State of Florida. Additionally, the Fire added two NCAA Division I graduate transfers that will play on defense.

“With the loss of twenty seniors from last season’s squad, we had plenty of holes to fill,” said Barefield. “this group of signees gives us a start at plugging those gaps We still have work to do, but this class has plenty of ability to give us the spark we will need this fall.”

In addition, the Fire have added 11 players that joined the team at the start of the spring semester. Three of those will have four years of eligibility, and five will have three years remaining.

The Fire made their second consecutive NAIA Football Championship Series appearance in 2017, and won their third conference title in four seasons.
