Former Boilers Picked for International All-Star Squad

 

Keys and Morrissette teamed up on a professional team in the Ukraine in 2019

 

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –Purdue women’s basketball alumnae Andreona Keys and Ashley Morrissette have capped off an incredible professional season overseas by being selected to an all-star team by 3D Global Sports to compete against the Chinese National Team in three exhibition games between May 28 and June 4. Keys and Morrissette teamed in the Ukrainian Superleague on Dynamo-NPU and had a dominant season, winning a pair of titles alongside some incredible stat lines.

 

3D Global Sports has organized an All-American/Canadian All-Star team to play against Team China Women’s National Team for exhibition games to help challenge and prepare Team China for their Asia Cup and Tokyo Olympic Games. This Sion-International Women’s Basketball Challenge will take place from May 28 – June 4 and will broadcast and stream throughout China, with three games in three different cities.

 

Keys and Morrissette led Dynamo-NPU to both the Ukrainian Cup and Ukrainian Superleague titles, posting a 29-3 overall record. Keys averaged an impressive 21.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game, while Morrissette added 17.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.0 steals per game. Keys finished second in the Ukrainian Superleague in scoring, sixth in assists, seventh in steals and ninth in rebounds, while Morrissette was the league’s No. 6 scorer, ranked third in steals and ninth in assists.

 

The pair is two of several Boilermakers playing professionally around the globe, a list that also includes Sam Ostarello, who is averaging 13.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for Fribourg in the Swiss SBL, KK Houser, who led Lulea Basket to a 17-3 record in the Damligan league in Sweden, and Aya Traore.
