Goshen College athletics announces two staffing changes

Albertin named associate athletic director and senior woman administrator; Nussbaum to oversee all athletic facilities

GOSHEN, Ind. – Goshen College Director of Athletics Harold Watson is pleased to announce a pair of staff promotions in the athletic department as the Maple Leafs seek to restructure their operations and maximize the talents of their staff.

Erica Albertin has been named Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, while Drew Nussbaum has been named Director of Game and Facility Operations.

“Erica has been essential and integral part to Goshen’s successes over the past three years and is very deserving of this promotion,” said Watson. “She continually strives to find ways to improve the student-athlete experience at Goshen.

In her role at Goshen, Albertin also serves as Head Athletic Trainer and manages an athletic training office that services more than 250 student-athletes.

Albertin came to Goshen from Dominican University (IIl.), where she served also served as Head Athletic Trainer. Erica is a 2009 graduate of Manchester College (now Manchester University) and a 2017 graduate of University of Idaho with a doctorate of athletic training.

“Drew’s promotion reflects the dedication and outstanding work he has done for Goshen the past two years,” said Watson. “During a time of departmental transition over the last year he went above and beyond to assure that all facility and event operations were run well, and every aspect of our departments game operations was completed with professionalism and excellence.”

In his new position, Nussbaum will oversee all facilities, operations, practice scheduling, and other internal areas. He has served as coordinator of the Roman Gingerich Recreation-Fitness Center since September 2017; he will continue day-to-day management of the RFC while adding oversight of GC’s remaining athletic facilities.

Nussbaum is a 2012 graduate of Goshen College, earning a degree in social work, and was a member of the men’s soccer program in 2010 and 2011. He has also spent the last four fall seasons as an assistant coach for the Maple Leaf men’s and women’s soccer teams.
