Grace Softball clinches tourney berth despite loss
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Grace’s softball team may have lost to No. 2 Marian on Monday, but the Lady Lancers still secured a spot in the Crossroads League Tournament.
Due to Goshen’s loss on Monday afternoon, Grace clinched the No. 8 seed in the CL tournament and extended its season.
Grace will play top-seed Marian again on Wednesday in the opening round at 10 a.m. in Indianapolis. Grace’s second game will be determined on the first game’s results for the double-elimination bracket.
The Lady Lancers (16-33, 10-25 CL) ended the regular season on Monday with a 12-2 defeat to Marian. The Knights (44-3, 33-2 CL) scored 12 runs on 12 hits, including a nine-run third inning.
Chandler Elliott was a lone bright spot for Grace offensively, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Paige Hlutke was 1-for-2, and Hannah Herbster finished 1-for-3 with a run and a stolen base.
