Gunderson Earns MSFA Mideast League Honors
Â
FINDLAY, Ohio – The Mid-States Football Association announced its weekly honors on Monday, highlighting TU’s Austin Gunderson as the MSFA Mideast League Special Teams Player of the Week for his effort in Taylor’s 63-10 win on Saturday.
Gunderson stayed busy during the victory, connecting on seven point-after attempts for the Trojans, as they matched the highest single-game scoring output since putting 68 points on the board in a win over Hanover on October 26, 1963.
Gunderson also boomed three touchbacks, averaged 63.5 yards per kickoff and pinned Lindenwood inside its own 20-yard line of two-of-three punt attempts.
The award was the second in the career of Gunderson, who joined Dovi Gamble as the two Trojans to earn MSFA Player-of-the-Week recognition this season.
Gunderson and the Trojans (3-4, 1-2 MSFA) will head north to take on No. 16 Concordia (7-1, 3-1 MSFA) on October 28 at 1:00 pm.
