KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Southeastern University freshman outfielder Haleigh Harrell was selected to the 2018 NAIA Softball All-America Second Team, announced today by the association.
Harrell becomes the fourth Southeastern player selected to the NAIA All-America team, and the first freshman in program history to be named All-American.
The Lakeland native hit .401 this season, posting a school-record 79 hits. Harrell recorded 15 doubles, two triples, and seven home runs, helping the Fire go 40-18 and make their fourth consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance.
Additionally, Harrell ranked 21st in the NAIA in stolen bases with 29, and her 119 total bases ranked 26th nationally.
Previously, she was selected The Sun Conference Freshman of the Year and was a First-Team All-Sun Conference selection.
