Holy Cross’ Daniel Lynch, Tomlinson Enable HCC To Sweep Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

CHICAGO — Keying a 2-1 win over previously-unbeaten Indiana University East on Saturday, Holy Cross College’s Daniel Lynch (Coco Beach, Fla.) and Lewis Tomlinson (Gainsborough, England) have been named Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week for the seven-day period ending Sept. 8, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Lynch, a freshman forward, garnered the offensive plaudits after scoring both Saint goals in the victory, the first tying the contest at 1-1 in the 41st minute and the second one producing the game-winner at 60 minutes.

Tomlinson, a junior goalkeeper, registered two saves, while allowing just the one goal to claim CCAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition.

The match was the only one on the week for Holy Cross, which is 3-1 on the season.
