Holy Cross MBB improves to 19-10 with 79-69 win at Trinity International

Deerfield, Ill. The Holy Cross College men’s basketball team had their last regular season road contest tonight when they traveled to Trinity International University for a CCAC matchup. The Saints used an efficient scoring night with five players scoring in double figures to defeat the Trojans 79-69. Robby Jimenez scored his 1,000th career point in the Saints victory. With the win, men’s basketball improves to 19-10 overall and 13-6 in conference, while TIU falls to 15-14 and 9-10.

Key Notes of the Game:

– The Saints had 24 assists on 32 made field goals, while shooting 55% from the field and 50% from three

– Men’s basketball won the rebound battle 35-28

– Holy Cross only committed 10 turnovers against TIU’s high pressure defense

By the Numbers:

– Robby Jimenez scored 21 points tonight to give him 1,020 career points

– Storm Cook had 15 points with 3 threes

– Bryce Crosen pulled down 9 rebounds to go along with 14 points

– Jordan Gaines went 7/8 from the free throw line and finished with 11 points

– Larenzo Moore added 10 points and 9 rebounds

 

Next Up:

Men’s basketball senior day will be this Saturday, February 16 when the Saints host Calumet College of St. Joseph. Tipoff is set for 3:00pm in McKenna Arena.
