Notre Dame, IN. Holy Cross College men’s basketball team faced preseason 12th ranked Robert Morris University this evening at McKenna Arena. The Saints stifling defense would hold the Eagles to only scoring 50 points in the 73-50 victory. With the win, men’s basketball improves to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference competition.
Holy Cross would jump out to a 10-point lead midway through the first half, and would never trail in the game. The home team led 36-25 at halftime.
The Saints strong shooting and stifling defense would increase the lead to 25, as the Saints would cruise to a 73-50 win.
Senior Travon Brackett scored a game-high 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Fellow senior Brandon Lawler added 11 points, and freshman Storm Cook chipped in 10. Ja’Mare Washington recorded a team-high 13 rebounds and added nine points. Holy Cross shot 41% from the field and 29% from three, while holding the Eagles to shooting 34% and 6% from three.
Men’s basketball will be back in action when they host the University of Saint Francis in a CCAC matchup on Saturday, Dec. 2. Tipoff set for 3:00pm.
