HOLY CROSS MEN’S GOLF WINS CCAC TOURNAMENT

Lemont, Ill. The Holy Cross College men’s golf team competed in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The two-day event was played at Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont, Illinois and featured 11 conference teams.

After the first round, Holy Cross was sitting alone in 1st place with a score of 292. The Saints backed that up with a second round score of 289, to take home first place by a 15 stroke advantage. Alex Meagherand Blake Vise took home first and second place individually in the tournament. Meagher was in a tie for first place after his first round 69. The senior followed that up with a 71 to finish in 1st place. Vise shot back-to-back 71’s to take home 2nd place. Camden Dal Corobbo finished with a 149 to come in 7th place, while Ben Szklarek took home 12th place, and Carter Silva finished in 31st place.

With the first place finish, men’s golf qualifies for the NAIA National Tournament to be played at Las Sendas Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona on May 21st.
