Holy Cross WBB fall at St. Ambrose in CCAC Tourney opener

Davenport, Iowa.  The Holy Cross College women’s basketball traveled to Iowa to take on St. Ambrose University in the first round of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Postseason Tournament. The Saints entered the game as the #11 seed and the Fighting Bees the #6 seed. Back on February 6, Holy Cross defeated St. Ambrose at home 77-67 in the teams’ only regular-season matchup. After the first 20 minutes of action in tonight’s action, the game entered halftime tied 26-26. Both teams would score 13 points in the third quarter to enter the final period tied 39-39. SAU would outscore the Saints 17-13 to hand them the 56-52 defeat.
