Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross College women’s basketball team hosted Trinity International University this evening in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference game. After a hot start by the Saints, they took a 7-0 lead early in the game. The Trojans were able to battle back and take a lead late in the second quarter, but a late layup by Holy Cross gave them a 25-24 lead heading into halftime. In the second half, Trinity International would outscore the Saints 36-24 to hand Holy Cross the 60-49 defeat.
Before tipoff, the athletic department recognized Sidney Taylor who would be playing in her final game in McKenna Arena. Taylor, from Swanton, Ohio, will be graduating from Holy Cross College this spring.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 7-12 overall and 3-7 in league play, while TIU improves to 9-10 and 5-7.
