Holy Cross women fall to Cardinal Stritch 69-52

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross Women’s Basketball team was at home again this time hosting CCAC opponent Cardinal Stritch University Wolves in the early afternoon. The Saints fell to Wolves by a score of 69-52. The loss now puts Holy Cross at a record of 6-6 within the CCAC and 9-13 overall on the season. Cardinal Stritch improves to 10-2 in the CCAC and 13-7 overall.

Key Notes of the Game:

– The Saints struggled from beyond the arc only shooting 16%, and shooting 37% from the rest of the field. While the Wolves shot 32% from beyond the arc, and 47% from the rest of the field

– Cardinal Stritch out rebounded the Saints only 35 to 32

– Holy Cross turned the ball over 18 times compared to Cardinal Stritch only turning the ball over 11 times

By the Numbers:

– Jessica Norris scored a team high of 13 points on the day, along with having 3 assists and 2 steals.

– Keysha Streater scored 10 points along with 3 rebounds, while Arielle Thatcher had 7 points as she shot 3 of 5 from the field.

– Brooke Sterkowitz led the team in rebounding with 6.

 

Next Up:

The women’s team will be back in action on Wednesday, January 23 as they travel to face CCAC opponent Trinity Christian College. Tipoff is set to be at 6:00pm CST.
