Notre Dame, IN. The Holy Cross College women’s basketball team got a win in their final game before Christmas break Saturday afternoon. The Saints defeated Calumet College of St. Joseph 77-55, in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference competition. With the win, women’s basketball improves to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in CCAC play.
Holy Cross would jump out 7-0 after an Eryn Leekthree with seven minutes left in the first quarter. The Saints would build on that momentum for the rest of the half, as they would enter halftime up 43-16.
Midway through the third quarter, Holy Cross would extend their lead 56-23 after a deep Tagin Schultheisthree. The Crimson Wave would make a run early in the fourth quarter, but the Saints were able to hold on to the 77-55 victory.
Junior Jessica Norris led all scorers with 18 points on 6/14 from the field. Senior Tagin Schultheis added 15 points and six assists, while Keysha Streater recorded 13 points and Kaelyn Barlow added eight to go along with her team-high 13 rebounds.  Holy Cross recorded 20 assists on 28 field goals.
The Saints will have a twelve-day break before returning to action on December the 29th, when they host Indiana Wesleyan University.
