Holy Cross Women’s Soccer improves to 3-4 with win over Governors State

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross College women’s soccer team began Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play this afternoon when they hosted Governors State University. The Saints would come out on the attack early in this match and score three unanswered goals. Nicole Cook found the back of the net exactly one minute into the match. Ashley McDonald scored in the 6th minute and Cook added another goal in the 23rd minute. Governors State was able to tack on two goals in the 27th and 32nd minutes, as the Saints would lead 3-2 entering halftime. Governors state was able to capitalize on a another penalty kick to tie the game up 3-3 in the 67th minute. Jennifer Requeno notched the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute to give the Saints the 4-3 victory. With the win, Holy Cross moves to 3-4 and 1-0 in conference play while Governors State falls to 2-3 and 0-1.
