Illinois’ Turchin named Player of the Week; Nebraska’s Alvarado claims Pitcher of the Week recognition; Michigan State’s Erla tabbed Freshman of the Week

Reached base in 12 of 15 plate appearances for an .800 on-base percentage to lead Illinois to victories over Furman and conference foe Michigan State

Reached base at least twice in all three games of the weekend, while leading Illinois with a .625 batting average (5-8) on the weekend

Slugged a team-best 1.250 with three extra-base hits
