Indiana and Maryland Earn Big Ten Weekly Women’s Basketball Awards
Hoosiers’ Ali Patberg and Terrapins’ Ashley Owusu are final weekly honorees of the 2019-20 season
Player of the Week
Ali Patberg, Indiana
G – Jr. – Columbus, Ind. – Columbus North – Major: Finance
• Averaged 23.5 points and 5.5 assists per game with a .633 field-goal percentage while pacing the nationally-ranked Hoosiers to a pair of Big Ten wins last week
• Posted a game-high 26 points, five rebounds and four assists in Indiana’s Feb. 27 win over Nebraska
• Added a game-best 21 points and seven assists in Sunday’s victory at Michigan, the Hoosiers’ first in Ann Arbor since 2009
• Named an Academic All-Big Ten honoree in 2018-19
• Earns her first Big Ten Player of the Week award

Big Ten Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
Stephanie Jones, Sr., F, MD: Averaged 15.5 ppg. and 6.5 rpg. with a .684 field-goal percentage as the nationally-ranked Terrapins extended their winning streak to 14 games and clinched a share of their fifth Big Ten title in six years
Leigha Brown, So., G, NEB: Registered 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting in the Huskers’ regular-season finale on Feb. 27 at Indiana
Arella Guirantes, Jr., G, RU: Tallied 21.5 ppg., 5.0 rpg. and 2.5 bpg. in Rutgers’ two wins last week, including six points in overtime of the Scarlet Knights’ victory over top-20 foe Iowa on Sunday.
Freshman of the Week
Ashley Owusu, Maryland
G – Woodbridge, Va. – Paul XI – Major: Letters & Sciences
• Averaged 12.5 points, 7.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game last week to help Maryland stretch its winning streak to 14 games and secure a piece of its fifth Big Ten title in six seasons as a conference member
• Posted 17 points, five assists and four steals on Sunday in the Terrapins’ win at Minnesota
• Had a near double-double on Feb. 25 against Purdue with eight points and nine assists
• Collects her fourth Freshman of the Week award
