Spartan’s Ando named Player of the Week; Buckeyes’ Lonsway claimed Pitcher of the Week recognition; Hoosiers’ Bierman tabbed Freshman of the Week

 

Player of the Week
Royce Ando, Michigan State

  • Helped the Spartans to their second-straight Big Ten road series victory with a pair of wins over No. 24 Iowa, their first wins against a ranked opponent this season
  • Hit .556 on the week with 10 hits, five RBI, two doubles and two runs scored
  • Registered a .636 on-base percentage and .667 slugging percentage as MSU snapped Iowa’s six-series win streak, dealing the Hawkeyes their first home series loss of the season
  • The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree wins his first career Big Ten Player of the Week award

  • Improved to 6-4 on the season and ranks second in the league with 96 strikeouts
  • Records his second career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor and first since April 1, 2019
