Indiana Sweeps Baseball Weekly Honors

Hoosiers’ Richardson named Player and Freshman of the Week, while Gordon claimed Pitcher of the Week recognition

 

 

Player and Freshman of the Week
Grant Richardson, Indiana

  • Helped the Hoosiers to a 4-0 record on the week, including a series sweep of Big Ten foe Iowa
  • Tallied 11 RBI on eight hits and scored five runs while batting .471
  • Hit a pair of home runs and two doubles as he registered a .500 on-base percentage and .941 slugging percentage
  • In his first nine career games, he is hitting .417 with 15 hits, 11 runs, three home runs and 17 RBI, tying for second on the team
  • Wins his first career Big Ten Player of the Week award and his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

  • In his last two starts, the junior right-handed pitcher has struck out 22 batters, while allowing just seven hits and two earned runs in 15 innings
  • Records his first career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor
