Indiana Sweeps Weekly Men’s Indoor Track & Field Awards

Hoosiers’ Eric Bethea and Rikkoi Brathwaite are the first weekly honorees of the 2018-19 indoor season

 

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Rikkoi Brathwaite, Indiana

Fr. – Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands – IMG Academy

• Won the 60-meter dash at last week’s Hoosier Open in a meet-record 6.68 seconds, the fastest time in the nation this year

• Also set national record in British Virgin Islands with his 60-meter time, eclipsing the previous mark which had stood for 16 years

• Earns his first career Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award

• Last Indiana Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Kyle Mau (Feb. 7, 2018)

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Eric Bethea, Indiana

Sr. – Piscataway, N.J. – Piscataway Township

• Recorded a personal-best 15.82 meters to win the triple jump at last week’s Hoosier Open

• Holds the best triple jump mark in the nation this season

• Collects his first career Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award
