Indiana Wesleyan Softball Advances to NAIA World Series

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Indiana Wesleyan softball is headed back to the NAIA World Series for just the second time in program history. The Wildcats battled a tough and feisty Truett McConnell squad, dropping game one 5-3 but dominated game two, 7-0.

In game one the Wildcats lost their two-run lead in the top of the seventh when the Bears scored two runs tying the score at three. TC would push across two runs in the tenth forcing the second game of the NAIA Opening Round Championship. IWU stranded 14 batters on base in game one.

 

IWU would flex their muscles in game two, scoring seven runs on 11 hits. Senior Carlie Weaver dominated the Bears lineup allowing two hits, zero runs while striking out two.
