GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Dayton Groninger poured in a new career-high Monday night, leading the Wildcats in a 71-45 win over Cornerstone University. The junior shot 10-of-16 from the field, and a perfect 5-for-5 from the line for 27 points.
INSIDE THE BOX
- The Wildcat defense nearly pitched a shutout in the first quarter, allowing the Golden Eagles to score just four points. Cornerstone committed seven turnovers in the first quarter while making just two of their 13 shots.
- Both teams struggled from behind the arc, shooting a combined 5-of-30. IWU knocked down three while CU contributed two.
- IWU shot a perfect 11-for-11 from the charity line. The Wildcats have shot a whopping 33-of-36 so far this season from the free-throw line.

- We didn’t play well tonight, but we have some time before our next game to get better. We must get better at the little things and continue to outrebound and make our free throws.

- The Wildcats take nine days off before kicking off their 2019-2020 home slate.
- IWU will host the Leah Whittaker Memorial Classic on November 8 & 9, facing IU-Kokomo and Lawrence Tech.
