Iowa’s Clark becomes all-time leading scorer in Hawkeyes win over Northern Iowa

POSTGAME NOTES

– No. 3/3 Iowa (3-0, 0-0) defeated Northern Iowa (1-1, 0-0), 94-53, inside McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Caitlin Clark became Iowa’s all-time leading scorer, passing Megan Gustafson’s previous record of 2,804 career points. Clark is the all-time leader in 3-point field goals (358) and is eyeing Sam Logic’s career assist record.

– Clark recorded her 12th career triple-double and joins Sabrina Ionescu as the only players in Division I women’s basketball history to record a triple-double in four different seasons. (24p, 11a, and 10r)

– It was the first sellout in Northern Iowa women’s basketball history. (6,500)

– Since the start of the 2020-21 season, Iowa leads the nation with 80 games of scoring 80+ points. Iowa also leads the country in the same span with 37 games of 90+ points.

– Lisa Bluder is now three wins shy of 500 wins at the University of Iowa.

– Iowa now leads the all-time series, 26-3.

– Kate Martin became the 32nd Iowa women’s basketball player to notch 500 career rebounds.

– Martin recorded a season-high eight boards.

– Clark has netted a 3-point basket in 61 consecutive games which is an NCAA-best.

– It was Molly Davis’ fourth career start for the Hawkeyes.

– It was the first time in Hannah Stuelke’s career that she has recorded three consecutive games in double figures.

Gabbie Marshall recorded a season-high 17 points and five 3-pointers made.

– All available Hawkeyes played in today’s contest.

UP NEXT

The third ranked Hawkeyes will host Kansas State on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (CT) inside a sold-out Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The contest will air on FS1 and the Hawkeye Radio Network.
