SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Coming off its convincing 79-60 victory over No. 11 Olivet Nazarene last Saturday, Indiana University South Bend men’s basketball eyes a pair of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matches this week. The Titans begin by travelling to Judson University on Wednesday Nov. 20 before hosting Governors State on Saturday, Nov. 23 inside the Student Activities Center at 3 p.m.

IU South Bend enters Wednesday’s contest at 5-3 overall and 1-1 during league play this season. The Titans are coming off its third victory over a ranked opponent as head coach Scott Cooper at the helm. The last time IUSB defeated a ranked opponent was back on Feb. 24, 2016 when the Titans defeated No. 19 Olivet Nazarene in the CCAC Tournament by a score of 90-75.
With an eight-point lead heading into the locker room, the Titans used a 20-9 run in the final minutes en route to the upset over the Tigers. Sophomore Miles Tracy led the Titans with 16 points to go along with seven rebounds.
As a team this season, IU South Bend ranks fourth in Division II with 79 total steals, ninth in scoring offense (684) and its 6.1 turnover margin is good for ninth in the country. Senior transfer Kourtlandt Martin leads the scoring for the Titans with 136 this season, which is ranks him 24th amongst the nation. Martin also has dished out a team-high 30 assists which is 25th in the NAIA Division II.
Two other players average double figures in scoring, including junior guard Dylan Allen and sophomore guard Donyell Meredith II with 11.3 and 10.3, respectively. Junior Norell Smith leads all Titans on the glass, grabbing an average of 7.1 rebounds per game.
Wednesday’s matchup will be the 14th meeting between the Eagles and Titans. IUSB holds a slight 7-6 advantaging, having one the last two of the three contests. Last time out, the Titans rolled past JU 93-71 on the road on Feb. 16, 2019. Judson enters the contest with a 1-5 overall record and a winless 0-2 CCAC record.
Saturday against Governors State (5-1, 2-0 CCAC) will be the seventh contest against the Jaguars. The only victory over GSU occurred back on Feb. 15, 2017 at home but Governors State holds a 5-1 overall record against the Crimson & Cream.
Following the week, Indiana University South Bend travels to Palos Heights, Ill. for a midweek clash with the Trolls of Trinity Christian on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 8:30 p.m.
