IUSB softball sweeps away Robert Morris

South Bend, Ind. – The Indiana University South Bend softball team pulled out two CCAC victories over visiting Robert Morris University on Saturday afternoon. The Titans would need an extra inning walk off to pull out the first game victory. This time it was Mackenzie Myars (FR/Frankfort, Indiana) with the timely hit to drive in the winning run. The Titan offense would explode in the second game to account for 15 runs, pounding out 14 hits in the victory.

•    Nicole Grazioli (JR/Lockport, Illinois) finished 2-4

•    Shannon McCarty (SR/South Bend, Indiana) and Shelby Baker (SO/Plainfield, Indiana) each added one hit for the Titans

•    Mackenzie Myars was 3-4 including the game winning hit and RBI

•    Becca Stevens (SO/Mooresville, Indiana) threw seven innings, allowing just two earned runs and striking out nine.

•    Bailey Bruce (SR/Indianapolis, Indiana) picked up the win in the circle, coming on in relief to throw a scoreless eighth inning.

•    Kat Bessler (JR/Brookston, Indiana) picked up 3 hits and 1 RBI

•    Kiah Ferrell (JR/Plainfield, Indiana) was 3-4 with 3 doubles and 2 RBI’s

•    Nicole Grazioli was 2-3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s

•    Brittany Vanderbrink (FR/Avon, Indiana) finished with 1 hit and 1 RBI

•    Brooke Boss (SR/Delavan, Wisconsin) added one hit for the Titans

•    Holly Weber (SO/Fort Wayne, Indiana) was 2-3 with a stolen base

•    Aly Brickel (JR/Hicksville, Ohio) picked up the win in the circle, throwing 4 innings giving up just 5 hits and 0 earned runs

•    Ashley Cox (SO/Mooresville, Indiana) picked up the save throwing one inning in relief while not surrendering a hit and striking out two of the three batters she faced.

ON DECK

•    The Titans will hit the dirt again tomorrow, Sunday, April 7th as they host Saint Ambrose University in another CCAC double header. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM ET with the second game following at 3:00 PM ET.
