SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (26-1, 18-1 CCAC) defeated the Olivet Nazarene University Tigers (13-14, 10-9 CCAC) by a final score of 84-81.

Wednesday’s win starts a new winning streak for the Titans and furthers their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference record to 18-1.

Trading baskets throughout the first quarter, IU South Bend found themselves down by two at the end of 10 minutes of play.

The Titans outscored the Tigers by three points in the second quarter thanks to seven points in the quarter from both Tenleigh Phelps and Jazmen Watts, helping them take a one point lead into halftime.

Tied at 46-46 early in the third, the Titans closed out the quarter on a 21-12 run to take a nine point lead heading into the game’s final 10 minutes.

However, Olivet Nazarene would not go away, tying the game at 81-81 with just over thirty seconds remaining in the game.

Two made free throws from Katie Gard got IUSB back in the lead and helped them secure an 84-81 victory.

A balanced IU South Bend offense saw four different Titans score in double figures, led by Tenleigh Phelps who finished with 22 points and Jazmen Watts who finished with 20 points.

An efficient 60% shooting (9-15) helped Phelps remain in first place in the CCAC in field goal percentage at better than 60% while also securing 11 rebounds to earn her seventh double-double of the season.

Watts’ 20 points came on seven made field goals while shooting a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line, just two short of tying her season high.

Other Titans to score in double figures included Katie Gard who finished with 16 points and Maddie Gard who finished with 14 points.

Katie Gard’s 16 points came on two three point field goals and a season high eight made free throws, including the game sealing shots from the charity stripe.

Maddie Gard’s 14 points came in only 25 minutes of action while missing just one shot that she attempted (7-8) and also hauling in seven rebounds.

Guard Emma Fisher fell just two assists shy of a double-double and just four points shy of reaching triple-double status, stuffing the stat sheet with six points, eight assists and tying a career high with 13 rebounds.
