KOKOMO, Ind.- Nine kills from the reigning CCAC Attacker of the Week, Abby Seeger were not enough in Tuesday night’s contest, as the IU South Bend Titans (4-11, 2-2 CCAC) fell to IU Kokomo (12-3, 1-0 RSC) in straight sets 25-12, 25-17, 25-16.
The Titans offensive attack was led by Abby Seeger who finished with nine kills and Alexis Issette who finished with seven kills. McKenzie Powell continued to flourish in the passing game, finishing with 23 assists, boosting her season average to better than 19 assists per game. CCAC Defender of the Week, Suriya Van der Oord picked up where she left off at last week, registering 16 digs against the Cougars.
A balanced IU Kokomo offense featured six different Cougars with at least five kills, led by Tori Wilkinson and Sidney Gerig who finished with seven kills each. Defensive specialist Alyvia Smith anchored the IU Kokomo defense with 18 digs.
The IU South Bend Titans return to action on Thursday, September 22nd, as they travel to Milwaukee, Wisc., to take on Cardinal Stritch University.
