LEXINGTON, Ky.- Following their 16-win season, which featured a winning streak of eight games, IU South Bend placed two representatives on the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s All-Mideast Region Team, the AVCA announced on Friday.

Junior Abigail Seeger earned a spot on the All Region Team thanks to her team leading 3.55 kills per set, good for the fifth most in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Seeger finished the 2022 season leading the team in kills with 327 and points per set with 4.01. Her .300 attack percentage led the Titans and was good for second best in the CCAC. Seeger’s impressive junior campaign earned her a nod as a First Team All-CCAC selection.

Joining Seeger on the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region Team is senior Setter McKenzie Powell. Powell was named AVCA Honorable Mention thanks to her team leading 851 assists and 19 service aces. Her 8.51 assists per set was good for third best in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. McKenzie Powell concludes her career as a four-time AVCA All-Mideast Region Team selection, a four time First Team All-CCAC Selection, and the all-time leader in assists in Indiana University South Bend history.

2022 marks just the fourth time in school history that Indiana University South Bend has had multiple players named to the AVCA All-Region Team.
