IWU Baseball Falls at IU Kokomo
KOKOMO, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan University baseball played a doubleheader on Tuesday at IU Kokomo. The Cougars won the opening game 4-0 and then won the nightcap 5-4. Indiana Wesleyan drops to 6-16 on the season as they prepare for the Crossroads League opener at home this weekend vs. Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio).
GAME 1
IU Kokomo scored all four runs in the 6th inning. IUK scored the runs on two hits, two walks, and two errors.
Caleb Eder pitched a complete game for the Wildcats, allowing a single earned run in 6.0 innings of work. He surrendered just three hits while striking out eight.
Indiana Wesleyan left seven runners on base.
GAME 2
IU Kokomo plated four runs in the 3rd inning for the 4-0 lead. Indiana Wesleyan tied the score with one run in the 4th inning and three more in the 5th inning. IU Kokomo plated the winning run in the 6th inning.
Parker Johnson and Zee Breytenbach combined to go the distance on the mound for the Wildcats. Each allowed one earned run and combined to strike out six Cougars.
Ethan English finished 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI while Brady West drew a pair of walks.
NEXT FOR THE WILDCATS
Indiana Wesleyan opens Crossroads League play this weekend at Wildcat Field. IWU hosts Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) with a single game on Friday at 4 p.m. and then the teams play a doubleheader on Saturday.
