IWU Baseball Takes Series Opener vs. Goshen
MARION, Ind. – The offense piled up 10 hits and Kyle Hall did not allow an earned run as Indiana Wesleyan University baseball opened a three-game weekend series with a 6-2 victory over Goshen (Ind.). Tanner Killian tied a career-high with three hits and he drove in a pair of runs to bolster the Wildcats’ big effort at the plate.
NEVER TRAILED
Tanner Killian scored on a Brady West ground out to second base in the third inning for the game’s first run. IWU did not surrender that lead. Indiana Wesleyan tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth inning for a 5-0 advantage.
MOUND PRESENCE
Indiana Wesleyan did not allow an earned run in the nine inning victory. Goshen managed to score a pair of unearned runs off Kyle Hall in 6.2 innings. Hall improves to 3-4 this season following a one walk and seven strikeout performance. Johnny Rohde and Zee Breytenbach combined to pitch the final 2.1 innings of relief with no runs.
