MARION, Ind. – In front of an electrifying crowd, Indiana Wesleyan men’s soccer moved to 1-0-1 on the season with a 4-2 victory over Lawrence Tech. Filipe Mendonca lead the way for the red and gray, netting three of the four Wildcat goals.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • Mendonca has netted a total of four goals in two games.
  • Phillip Basara collected his first career goal in the 26th minute.
  • Glauber Oliveria assisted on two goals in the match.

SANFORD PERSPECTIVE

  • I am really proud of how the guys played tonight. Filipe did a nice job finishing but owes it to his teammates who found him at the right time. It was good to get that first win of the season, but we now turn attention to a very good Indiana Tech team on Friday.

WHAT’S NEXT

  • IWU hosts Indiana Tech on Friday, August 30th at 5:30 p.m.
