IWU Volleyball Makes Quick Work of MVNU
MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan University started slow but quickly took advantage of the match en route to a 3-0 win over visiting Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) on Saturday in Luckey Arena. Freshmen paced the Wildcats as Ana Collar produced a match-high 15 kills and 17 digs while Kendyll Gebert added 34 assists and 11 digs.
EARLY MOMENTUM SWING
Mount Vernon built an early 12-6 lead in the opening set but that quickly changed. Indiana Wesleyan went on to outscore MVNU 19-8 the rest of the set to win 25-20. IWU continued that run in the second set with 8 of the first 10 points as the Wildcats had scored 27 of 37 points during the stretch.
ATTACKING CONSISTENCY
The Wildcats had an attacking percentage of .273 in all three sets. IWU ended the afternoon with a .273 attack percentage with 46 kills in 121 chances.

Indiana Wesleyan plays the next five matches on the road and does not return to Luckey Arena until September 26. The first of the five game road stretch is on Wednesday at Huntington (Ind.). The match begins at 7 p.m.
