SIOUX CITY, Iowa. – Indiana Wesleyan volleyball kicked off the 2019 NAIA National Championships Tuesday, with a 3-0 victory over Saint Mary (Kan.) in match one-of-three in pool play. IWU has now won 15 straight matches dating back to October 11.
IWU is just one of five teams to win in straight sets in round one of pool play.
INSIDE THE BOX
Ana Collar and Rachel Klitzing were the only two players to record double-digit kills in the match. Collar posted 11 while Klitzing posted ten.
Four Wildcats recorded double-digit digs with Havyn Gates leading the way with 20. Kelly Miller and Collar is collected 14 while Alex Falcone collected ten.
Falcone led the way with 38 assists, collecting all but four of the teams 42. Her 12.7 assists per-set average ranks her Top-5 in the NAIA Tournament. Two players in front of her have played more than three sets.
As a team, Indiana Wesleyan posted a .242 team hitting percentage, good for sixth-best on day one.
