IWU WBB rolls past IU EAST

UPLAND, Ind –  Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball senior Nicole Ignasiak was nearly perfect Friday, leading the Wildcats over #RV IU East, 83-54. IWU has won their last five of six games.

NEARLY PERFECT

  • Ignasiak finished with a season-high 27 points on 13-of-14 shooting while also grabbing 12 rebounds. The senior played just 22 minutes of the entire contest.

CONTINUED DOMINANCE

  • Indiana Wesleyan has shredded the competition winning by 25 points or more in all five of their victories, with three of those wins against ranked teams. IWU continues to swarm on defense allowing teams to shoot just 22% from behind the arc, good for Top-10 in the NAIA.

WHALEY PERSPECTIVE

  • “I liked our pace and urgency for much of the game. We had long spurts of dominating the paint on both ends of the floor and that was the difference in the game.”

WHAT’S NEXT

  • IWU wraps up the Crossroads League/River States Classic tomorrow facing Cincinnati Christian. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Eagles are just 1-4 on the season with their lone win coming against Kentucky Christian.
