MARION, Ind – It was all Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball Saturday, as Margot Woughter tallied a new career high in the 89-40 domination of Goshen College. IWU set the tone early allowing just seven points in the first quarter.

FAST START

  • IWU came out firing in the first quarter, shooting 8-of-14 from the field for 57%. Woughter led the charge scoring nine points on, 3-of-3 shooting from deep. GC couldn’t handle the Wildcat pressure shooting 20% from the field while coughing the ball up six times.

WOUGHTER SHOW

  • The freshman from Traverse City, Michigan followed up a 22-point game against Mount Vernon Wednesday, with a spectacular 27-point game against Goshen. Woughter was nearly perfect from three knocking down 7-of-9 while going 9-of-12 from the floor.

SMOTHERING DEFENSE

  • Indiana Wesleyan held Goshen College to just 25% shooting Saturday while allowing just four made threes in the contest. Goshen turned the ball over 20 times allowing IWU 24 points off Goshen turnovers.

WHALEY PERSPECTIVE

  • Tonight, we were very connected on both ends of the floor. Our habits led to great results both defensively and offensively.

NEXT TIME OUT

  • IWU faces Saint Francis at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5.
