MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan women’s soccer lost a close battle Wednesday, falling to No. 1 Spring Arbor University 2-1 in Crossroads League play. SAU got on the board early as Alicia Hall scored an unassisted goal in the seventh minute. Tia Sanford would square things up before the half, scoring off a post-deflection from Lexis Garcia’s shot. Three-time National Player of the Year Bethany Balcer had other plans, striking her 11th goal of the season in the 70th minute for the eventual win.
SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE
“I am satisfied with the fight and grit but disappointed in the result. They showed a ton of resilience and heart tonight. You could see they were disappointed in the result and as a coach, I love that. It shows they want to win and shows they are going to continue to attack each training session.”
