FABULOUS FIVE

  1. Concord (6-0): Josh Gorball connected on field goals of 45 and 41 yards for the No. 3 (Class 5A) Minutemen in a 41-7 victory over Jimtown.
  2. Northridge (6-0): Julius Graber ran and threw for touchdowns in the No. 6 (Class 4A) Raiders; 24-14 upset of No. 5 (Class 4A) NorthWood.
  3. Penn (5-1): Paul Moala had a 98-yard kickoff return for a score in the No. 10 (Class 6A) Kingsmen’s 30-14 victory at Saint Joseph.
  4. Plymouth (5-1): Braxton Bennitt caught a pass for a touchdown and also intercepted a pass for the Rockies in a 34-6 win at Wawasee.
  5. Knox (6-0): Dawson Patrick scored a pair of touchdowns in the Redskins’ 19-0 triumph at LaVille.

HONORABLE MENTION

Culver Academy (5-1): Alejandro Septien connected on seven extra-points for the Eagles in a 61-0 victory at Heritage.

Marian (4-2): John Brach accounted for 128 total yards with a rushing score, but the No. 9 (Class 3A) Knights were guilty of five turnovers in their 21-14 loss to Bremen.

Mishawaka (4-2): C.J. Fisher tallied six tackles and an interception in the Cavemen’s 42-14 victory at Elkhart Central.

New Prairie (5-1): Chase Ketterer rambled 18 times for 159 yards and four scores as the Cougars rallied for a 42-32 win over Riley.

NorthWood (4-2): Bronson Yoder hauled in six receptions for 68 yards and a score, but it was not enough for the Panthers against Northridge.

MAKING STRIDES

Adams (1-5): Jaydin Miller had four trips to the end zone as the Eagles got into the win column for the first time with a 49-6 win against Clay.

Bremen (3-3): Nathan Mullen ran for two touchdowns, caught a pass for another tally, and also hauled in an interception in the Lions’ upset of Marian.

Culver (4-2): Ryan Tompos scampered for 237 yards and three scores for the Cavaliers in a 31-28 win over Winamac.

Elkhart Memorial (1-5): Tyler Dicks caught a 20-yard touchdown pass to help the Chargers pick up their first win with a 46-14 decision over Indianapolis Shortridge.

Warsaw (3-3): Josh West’s five-yard romp into the end zone lifted the Tigers to a 21-0 triumph over Goshen.

WORK IN PROGRESS

Clay (0-6): Daijohn Hill’s 98-yard return for a score was one of the few bright spots for the Colonials against Adams.

Saint Joseph (2-4): Despite 82 yards rushing and a touchdown from Ashton Ruszkowski, the Indians were guilty of 72 yards in penalties against Penn.

Triton (4-2): Delano Shumpert’s 42-yard touchdown reception in the Trojans’ 62-8 loss at Pioneer is the first score the Panthers have allowed this season.

Wawasee (1-5): Jacob Hand had a 65-yard punt return for a score, but that was all the Warriors could muster against Plymouth.

Winamac (2-4): Ethan Rogers came up with 145 yards on the ground and a touchdown in the Warriors’ setback to Culver.

STAY TUNED

Concord (6-0) at Plymouth (5-1): The Minutemen are going for their third straight win over Plymouth.

Knox (6-0) at Pioneer (6-0): In their last two matchups, the Panthers have outscored Knox, 97-12.

New Prairie (5-1) at Marian (4-2): The Cougars have captured four of the last five meetings with Marian.

Riley (3-3) at Jimtown (3-3): The Wildcats have been outscored 83-29 in their last two games with Jimtown.

Washington (3-3) at Bremen (3-3): The Panthers are going for their second win in a row at Bremen’s Don Bunge Field.
