FABULOUS FIVE

  1. Penn (8-1): Cole Bennett recorded two catches for 46 yards with a touchdown in the No. 8 (Class 6A) Kingsmen’s 42-0 win over Adams to earn the Northern Indiana Conference’s East-West Division title.
  2. Mishawaka (7-2): Brady Fisher ran for two touchdowns and tossed for another score as the No. 9 (Class 5A) Cavemen wrapped up a share of the Northern Lakes Conference crown with a 41-22 win over Wawasee.
  3. Warsaw (8-1): Reed Zollinger accounted for 211 yards on the ground with three touchdowns as the Tigers claimed a part of the NLC title with a 24-10 win over No. 3 (Class 4A) Northridge.
  4. Northridge (7-2): Dylan Ritchie connected on a 37-yard field goal for the Raiders against Warsaw.
  5. NorthWood (7-2): JoZiah Edmond recorded a 21-yard touchdown reception and a 60-yard punt return for another score in the Panthers’ 22-0 win at Goshen.

HONORABLE MENTION

Concord (5-4): Jack Jewett returned a kickoff 70 yards for a score in the Minutemen’s 46-6 win over Plymouth.

Glenn (5-4): Chase Miller threw a pair of touchdown passes, ran for two scores, booted five extra-points, and intercepted a pass in the Falcons’ 53-20 win over Washington.

Marian (5-4): Michael Przygoda blocked a punt resulting in a safety in the Knights’ 16-10 win over Saint Joseph.

New Prairie (7-2): Brock Sinka rambled 10 times for 37 yards with a touchdown in the Cougars’ 16-8 win at Elkhart.

Riley (8-1): Robert Nabieu returned a fumble 77 yards for a score and snatched an interception as the Wildcats claimed the NIC’s North-South Division with a 24-12 win over Jimtown.

MAKING STRIDES

Clay (3-6): Karon Miller scampered for 150 yards with a score in the Colonials’ 24-12 win over Bremen’s junior varsity.

HELP WANTED

Adams (1-8): Mason Foster carried the ball 14 times for 27 yards for the Eagles against Penn.

Bremen (4-5): Tyrus Graverson tallied 105 yards receiving and booted three field goals in the Lions’ 51-16 loss to No. 4 (Class 3A) Tippecanoe Valley.

Elkhart (3-6): Nathan Munson registered an 85-yard touchdown reception for the Lions against New Prairie.

Goshen (1-8): Aiden Ellison registered a quarterback sack for the RedHawks against NorthWood.

Jimtown (4-5): Ty Zartman came up with 28 rushes for 145 yards with two scores for the Jimmies against Riley.

Plymouth (2-7): Brady Coffin managed seven tackles for the Rockies against Concord.

Saint Joseph (4-5): Franco Biffle raced 57 yards for a score for Saint Joe against Marian.

Washington (2-7): Torrey Wilson accounted for a pair of touchdown catches for the Panthers against Glenn.

Wawasee (1-8): Donovan Blair had a two-yard scoring run for the Warriors against Mishawaka.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

Clay (3-6) at Glenn (5-4) (Class 3A Sectional 26): The Colonials are looking for their first post-season win since 2010, while Glenn’s last sectional crown came in 2004.

Hobart (7-2) at New Prairie (7-2) (Class 4A Sectional 17): The Brickies have taken two of the previous three meetings against New Prairie.

Jimtown (4-5) at Fairfield (5-4) (Class 3A Sectional 26): The Jimmies are in pursuit of their sixth consecutive victory against Fairfield.

Marian (5-4) at West Noble (9-0) (Class 3A Sectional 26): The Chargers ended Marian’s string of seven straight sectional crowns a year ago with a 26-14 victory.

NorthWood (7-2) at Saint Joseph (4-5) (Class 4A Sectional 18: The Panthers are looking for their fourth straight win over Saint Joseph.
