FINAL FOUR BOUND

Culver Academy (21-6): Ethan Brittain-Watts poured in 12 points for the No. 4 Eagles in their 50-43 win over West Lafayette for the Class 3A LaPorte regional championship.

Riley (26-0): Trevor Fortune came off the bench to tally 11 points as the No. 2 Wildcats claimed the Class 4A Michigan City regional crown with a 75-68 win over Elkhart Memorial.

Westview (28-1): Josh Hostetler paved the way with 19 points, helping the No. 2 Warriors capture the Class 2A North Judson regional title with a 59-55 win over Andrean.

BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR

Elkhart Christian (19-7): Gabe Arter recorded 18 points, but the Eagles still came up on the short end of a 68-48 decision to No. 5 Gary 21st Century at the Class 1A Culver regional semifinals.

Elkhart Memorial (14-13): Hank Smith’s 23 points was not enough for the Crimson Chargers against Riley.

Lake Central (15-13): Derek Hobbs netted 10 points, but the Indians dropped a 54-38 contest to Riley in the Class 4A Michigan City regional semifinals.

Marquette Catholic (13-15): Buddy Jaffee tallied 19 points in the Blazers’ 79-72 overtime setback to Andrean in the Class 2A North Judson regional opener.

NorthWood (18-6): Caleb Glick managed eight points, but it was not enough for the Panthers in a 66-51 loss to host Marion in the Class 3A regional opener.

Valparaiso (20-6): Nathan Aerts racked up 16 points for the Vikings in a 67-60 overtime loss to Elkhart Memorial in the Class 4A Michigan City regional semifinals.

UP NEXT

Culver Academy (21-6) vs. New Castle (27-2) (Class 3A Lafayette Semistate): The Eagles are looking to make the state finals for the first time since 2011, while the Trojans’ last trip came in 2006.

Riley (26-0) vs. Carmel (20-7) (Class 4A Lafayette Semistate): The Wildcats have not played in the state finals since 1945, while the Greyhounds claimed the state title in 2013.

Westview (28-1) vs. Oak Hill (24-5) (Class 2A Huntington Semistate): The Warriors were state runner-up in 2014, while the Golden Eagles are going for their first semistate title.
