Lady Charger Advance to Region Championship Game

Port Huron, MI – Ancilla College used a big second quarter to beat Grand Rapids 83-53 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 12, District G semi-final Friday. They will face the winner of the Muskegon/Lake Michigan game in the District G championship game Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The District G winner advances to the NJCAA National Tournament at the end of March.

Freshman guard LaRae Roscoe fought foul trouble in the first half, but was still able to put up a game-high 18 points, five assists and four steals. Alyssa Williams finished with 11 points.

The Lady Chargers (24-5) caused 24 Grand Rapids turnovers and scored 31 points off of those miscues. Ancilla had 15 second chance points and 30 points in the paint.

Ancilla split with both Lake Michigan and Muskegon in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association and was the only team to beat Muskegon in conference play.
