Benton Harbor, MI –  The Ancilla College women’s basketball dug themselves a 15-point deficit at halftime and a fourth quarter rally fell short as they lost 72-68 to Lake Michigan Community College in a Michigan Community College Athletic Association game Wednesday night.

LaRae Roscoe led the Lady Chargers (16-3, 6-2) with 17 points, with Quaynik Merriweather scoring 11 and Jaden Conard had 10.  Ancilla falls into second place with in the MCCAA with Lake Michigan.

“We lacked some mental toughness early and didn’t handle their run well,” said Tom Robbins, Ancilla’s coach. “ We were playing our best basketball in the fourth and just ran out of time.”

Ancilla will travel to Muskegon on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
