Lady Chargers Open Volleyball Season with a Victory

Battle Creek, MI – It took five sets, but the Ancilla College Women’s Volleyball team beat Kellogg Community College 25-21, 18-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-8 in a Michigan Community College Athletic Association match Thursday night.

It gave head coach Bruce Johnson his first collegiate coaching victory at Ancilla in his first attempt.

Jaela Meister (Bourbon, IN) led the team with 16 kills and 12 digs. Britney Hoffman (DeMotte, IN) had 11 kills and 18 digs, with Bailey Jones (Winamac, IN) adding 11 kills and 16 digs. Trisha Moser (Bremen, IN) had 46 assists in the five-set contest.

Ancilla travels to Cicero, IL Friday to play Morton College and will be home on Saturday to host their Tri-Match.  The Lady Chargers play the Bethel College JV at 10 a.m. and Vincennes University at 2 p.m. at the LifePlex in Plymouth.  Bethel and Vincennes will play around 11:30 a.m.
