COLUMBIA, Ky.—A perfect day plus one historic kick secured the third Mid-South Sun Division Special Teams Player of the Week award for David Larson.

As the first half clock ran out, Larson connected on a 50-yard field goal to put the Fire up 20-7 at the break. It marked the longest field goal in program history, breaking Caleb Winter’s four-year old mark against Edward Waters on October 4, 2014.

Larson was also good on field goals from 25-, and 43-yards out. He also was 4-for-4 on extra points, scoring 13 points.

The sophomore also sent both of his punts 40+ yards, and averaged over 60 yards per kickoff.

This season, Larson has been good on 11 field goals, which is third-most in the NAIA this season, and is sixth in scoring among kickers with 56 points.

The Fire return to the gridiron on October 27 for Homecoming against Edward Waters College at 7 p.m.
