Litka name girls basketball coach at New Prairie

The New Prairie United School Corporation is pleased to announce the hiring of Aimee Litka as our New Varsity Girls Basketball Coach.  

Litka comes to New Prairie from IU-South Bend where she served as an Asst. Coach on a team that finished the 2019-20 season with a 25-7 record.  She also previously served as Head Coach of Holy Cross College from 2011-2019.

Litka is a graduate of South Bend Saint Joseph High School where she competed as a multi-sport student-athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball.  During her senior year in basketball, Litka led the Indians to the IHSAA Class 3A State Championship, earned 3rd Team All-State honors and was also named an Indiana All-Star.  She finished her prep career at St. Joseph with 1,698 points.

Taking her talents to Valparaiso University, she helped the Crusaders to 66 wins during her four year career.  Litka averaged 11.8 points-per-game as a senior and totaled 944 career points with 171 three-point field goals made

Academically, Litka earned a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Master’s of Science from Valparaiso.  During her time as a college student-athlete, she was also named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll.
